Prodrive finally got a new name

When Dani Sordo and Patrik Sandell return to World Rally Championship scene on Rally Portugal they will be part of “Prodrive WRC Team”. New name will finally put an end to that clumsy “Prodrive-run” appendix. What would be even better is to have a major sponsor name added to Prodrive WRC Team, but that’s another story.

With Sordo and Sandell confirmed for Portugal it is obviously not yet time for Kris Meeke to make his return to A team. That is, most likely, still dependent on whether team manages to find major backer. On a brighter note, Meeke took part in recent test and development session. So yes, Kris is still part of Prodrive WRC Team.

Finally, the situation for Prodrive did not end up as bad as we thought it would when they announced they’ll be taking on paying drivers. It was easy to picture a driver with loads of cash and lack of cojones, but luckily that did not happen. Patrik Sandell has a wealth of rallying experience and speed and is very valuable asset to the team.
