Latvala retakes lead on SS3

Third stage of Rally Mexico was Las Minas with 15.21 kilometers of dusty, slippery and twisty roads. All that didn’t stop Jari-Matti Latvala to continue pushing and eventually scoring the top time of the stage. Sebastien Loeb was 1.9 seconds slower with SS2 winner Mikko Hirvonen managing third time, 2.2 seconds behind Latvala.

All that translates into Latvala taking the overall lead with 1.2 seconds gap to Hirvonen. Finnish duo is only 5.5 seconds ahead of undisputed ruler of Rally Mexico, Sebastien Loeb with Thierry Neuville being impressive once again and is currently 17.4 seconds behind the provisional leader Latvala.

After struggling with puncture on SS2, Petter Solberg was back in action on SS3, but only until another puncture forced him to lose even more time, although not the huge amount like on SS2.
