Latvala to skip Argentina due to shoulder injury

Up until now Jari-Matti Latvala could say he would be extremely happy to make it to the end of a rally without retiring, but after latest setback he will be looking forward to even make it to the start. Ok, that’s rather unfair of me, but this stacking of bad luck has to end sometime, right?

Latest incident happened during fitness training in Lapland – Jari Matti fell on a cross-ski course and suffered shoulder injuries, which were severe enough to put him to hospital. Last night doctors performed a surgery and reports claim everything went well, but Ford’s ace will have to skip Rally Argentina in order for the injury to fully heal before the Acropolis Rally at the end of May.

According to Ford World Rally Team director Malcolm Wilson, team will decide on replacement driver for Argentina next week.

“Finding a replacement won’t be an issue [in terms of driver availability] but you have to remember a driver of Jari’s ability is very hard to replace,” said Wilson.

As was the case so many times this year, I could only think of “Perkele” if I wanted to summarize latest bit of Latvala related news.
