Novikov picks first, Latvala last – will it rain?

Starting order for tomorrow’s first leg of Rally Argentina is out, and is based not only on the results of the Qualifying stage, but also on the mixed forecasts. Some say it will rain, some say it won’t. One guy certainly is hoping for rain – and if he is right, being first on the road might be quite beneficial.

Or at least that’s what Evgeny Novikov is hoping for, after he opted to be the first on the road tomorrow. On the opposite side of the grid, Jari-Matti Latvala selected last starting position. Unlike Novikov, Latvala will be praying for dry stages, in which case he will be able to fully use favourable starting position, following the road sweepers.

Sebastien Ogier will start 10th, followed by Sebastien Loeb, while Mikko Hirvonen is closer to the middle of the “grid” with 8th spot.

Bring on the stages!
