The new Volkswagen Polo R WRC is so fast, its livery is bent backwards

This car destroyed the opposition last year, even though some (yours truly included) would argue that Sebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia also played a pretty important part in that destruction. But, they’d be nothing without a good car and vice versa, so Volkswagen spent last couple of months working on the new machine for this year. You know, so the destruction can be even more… destructive this time around.

Reports suggest they changed and improved a few key components on the car. Well, yeah, teams tend to do that, it’s called development, but OK, OK, let’s call it news. Also, there’s snow in the mountains in the winter. Strange, I know.

Volkswagen Motorsport will (have to) share more info about their updated Polo beast soon, but I’m more interested in the upgrades for Seb and Julien and more crucially for Jari-Matti and Miikka.

And finally, check out the new livery. It’s cool, cold and effective. Last year they stood straight up (the side stripes did), but the new car is so fast that they had to break the stripes to go with the (increased) air flow. I’m sorry, I know, it’s this damn warm weather, I cannot think straight. Are my stripes bent too?
