Upcoming Rally Sweden will see a change in Mini World Rally Team’s hotly contested second Mini John Cooper Works WRC car. Experienced Swedish driver and former JWRC champions Patrik Sandell will replace Frenchman Pierre Campana, who competed in last week’s Rallye Monte Carlo, largely thanks to financial support from French motorsports federation FFSA.
Sandell’s switch to Mini WRC machinery will see him take part in one of WRC’s iconic events, and if weather forecasts are to be believed Rally Sweden will not lack snow this year.
Sandell is part of recently formed Sweden World Rally Team. Led by famous rally legends Bjorn Waldegard and Stig Blomqvist, Sweden World Rally Team’s main goal is to promote Swedish drivers on World Rally Championship scene.
To keep all-Swedish combination in perfect tune, Sandell’s Mini will sport blue and golden-yellow colours, depicting Swedish national flag.
Rally Sweden takes place between 9th and 12th of February.
