Another day, another drama: BMW axing it’s WRC programme?

While WRC is going through some of it’s darkest hours only thing missing now is full cancellation of the championship by FIA or withdrawal of Ford and Citroën to make the news as bad as possible.

Autosport just published a story we all feared would come out these days. It features usual suspects, BMW, Mini and Prodrive and it does not have a happy end.

Autosport’s sources claim BMW is on verge of axing or dramatically reducing Mini’s WRC project either by terminating it’s contract with Prodrive or withdrawing from World Rally Championship altogether.

Dark hours indeed and the consequences of this latest blunder will be felt for long time and for all three sides involved. With WRC, again, taking the worst blow.
