Carlos Sainz to test Polo R WRC on gravel

Spanish veteran and Volkswagen advisor Carlos Sainz has a really busy schedule – right after testing equally veteran Porsche 911 for his March outing in historic Rally of Spain Sainz will take part in another test session for Volkswagen. Former Dakar Rally winner will take over the new 2013 specification Polo out for a run in the mud and sand.

Volkswagen’s first “proper” WRC specification Polo was in action last week in Norway, driven by Dieter Depping and Sebastien Ogier with team making full use of the snowy conditions and having just completed Rally Sweden entire squad was already in Scandinavia anyway. Next week Sainz will shake down new car on gravel, and possibly share it with Volkswagen regular Ogier.

For a retiree Mr. Sainz surely works hard! :)
