Video: Hermann Gassner Jr. onboard in the “tunnels” of Azores

If you ever wondered what’s so special about the stages of Sata Rallye Açores then this video might give you some clues. Often described like “tubes” or “tunnels”, stages are marked with blindingly fast sections and lined with high banks, making it almost impossible to go too wide without hitting something.

And hitting something at these speeds usually spells end to your rally or will at least cost you massive amounts of time.

Following video was taken on board Hermann Gassner’s car on special stage 4 and it’s quite obvious why this rally is not your usual run-through-the-forest gravel event. Gassner Jr. ended day 2 of the Sata Rallye Açores on 4th spot after battle with Sepp Wiegand.
