Jari-Matti Latvala is determined to make it back to provisional podium after problems and time lost on earlier stages. Ford’s ace is lining up stage victories and reducing the gap to the podium positions dramatically, but he’s still a long way to go.
To further emphasize Ford’s good form, if somewhat bad luck, Petter Solberg was only 1 second slower than Latvala with Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen taking third and fourth spot respectivelly.
In overall classification Loeb is 4.5 seconds clear of Hirvonen. Further 57.6 seconds behind lies Mads Ostberg, who can already feel the pressure from Latvala – Finn is 17.8 seconds behind the young Norwegian.
Crews are now heading towards Leon and SS 10, first out of three remaining stages, all run in super special format.
