Loeb conquered 41.88 kilometers Otates stage

Second longest stage of this year’s Rally Mexico challenged the crews with 41 kilometers lined with tricky sections, very slipper and narrow parts, putting huge pressure on concentration as well as cars and tires.

Sebastien Loeb flew through the SS 14 and with 5.5 seconds increased his lead overall to 18.2 seconds to Mikko Hirvonen.

“I tried really hard, maybe too hard in some places and we went maybe a too wide few times. I think Loeb could be fast in this stage, it’s very, very twisty and it’s not easy”, said Latvala at the finish.

Petter Solberg was not happy with his performance on this the second longest stage of the rally. Norwegian lost time in his bid to catch his younger compatriot Mads Ostberg. At the same time, latter was quite happy after SS 14 and currently lies 9.3 seconds ahead of Solberg.

Mini’s Paulo Nobre was again out of luck. Brazilian crashed and destroyed a wheel on his car and is out of the rally for the day. According to Motorsport Italia’s statement, team will try and get him back into action tomorrow through yet another Rally2 return.
