Citroën opts for top, Ford for bottom
Interesting tactics by Ford and Citroën for tomorrow leg 1 of 2012 Rally Portugal – French team decided to run as first on the road, while at the same time Ford is taking the bottom of the orders.
Mikko Hirvonen will be first on the road ahead of Sebastien Loeb and Ott Tanak. Ford’s crews, however, selected to do just the opposite: Evgeny Novikov will be 15th on the road, followed by Petter Solberg as 16th and Jari-Matti Latvala as 17th car.
With rest of the top seeded crews about to make their choices it really looks interesting and promising for tomorrow. Either way, one of those teams will surely have a huge battle on their hands. But which one? My bet is Ford. In my opinion Citroën’s call was better in this case. We’ll see!
