Blogs and magazines line up to fire questions at Andreas Mikkelsen!

Volkswagen pretty much stunned World Rally Championship scene earlier this year, with two dominant victories in Sweden and Mexico, coupled with second place in season opener, Rallye Monte Carlo. But if you thought Volkswagen Motorsport were strong enough already, you might want to think again!

Why? Because their ranks just got even stronger with the arrival of the 2011 and 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion and youngest driver ever to score WRC points. His name is Andreas Mikkelsen, and we got in line to ask him a question! What of reply? Patience, read on!

Last year he was closely watched by recruitment officers in Wolfsburg, and ultimately landed the coveted seat in third works Polo R WRC. As an illustration of his character, take a look at the quotes below.
“I am an adrenaline freak and I love everything to do with high speeds,” says the Norwegian. “I learnt to drive in a World Rally Car before I took proper driving lessons. I was even so used to paddle shifting that it was hard to adapt to normal manual shifting at driving school.” Coming to Volkswagen was a dream come true for Andreas: “I think every driver would want to drive for Volkswagen this WRC season!”
What else is going through his mind, ahead of his debut rally for Volkswagen? Personally, I have no idea! But luckily, Volkswagen Motorsport anticipated that, and collected our question for Andreas, with a promise to return it tomorrow, accompanied with a reply.

Join me tomorrow, as World Rally Blog gets in line with our friends, the WRC & rally media enthusiasts and pros, for a welcome-to-WRC grilling session with Andreas Mikkelsen.
