It’s only a stage win, but…

Did we expect less than stellar performance by Sebastien Loeb in his Dakar Rally debut? Sure we did. This is not a joke local rally with easy to remember stages and amateur participants driving their hobby machines, so to expect Loeb or any other rookie to start their rally raid careers by winning stages wasn’t really the first possible option. But then again, this is nine-times World Rally Champion we’re talking about. Never mind the fact that he RAN AWAY FROM DIRECT FIGHT WITH SEBASTIEN OGIER (/end), he proved his immense knowledge, talent and skill by winning… almost everything that matters (to him), many times over. I don’t think you could challenge Loeb to a friendly game of anything really, because when he does things, he only has one idea on his mind – victory. I have no doubt he keeps both feet firmly on the ground regarding his Dakar chances – his experience tells him this is only the beginning, first kilometers, anything and everything can and probably will happen.

Time sheets, spectacular photos and videos and delayed reports… I guess it should do before we’re reunited with our beloved World Rally Championship. Meanwhile, let’s root some for Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen!
