Latvala will help Solberg in title chase

Ford’s number one driver is currently undergoing extensive rehabilitation programme in order to regain fitness and retake his seat in one of Ford’s works Fiestas in upcoming Acropolis Rally.

Few days ago Jari-Matti took part in testing sessions and said he was happy with his recovery but needs to keep working with his physio to regain full fitness.

“I’m not yet 100% there but I will continue my programme to be prepared for Greece”, Latvala said according to French magazine Autohebdo.

Asked about his chances in title chase, Latvala said: “The primary objective of Ford is the constructors’ championship. For the pilots, as I have a chance, I will play my card all the way. It is true that my situation is not great but I still believe it. I put myself in the service of Petter if I was not in position to be champion. For now, this is not the case.”

Rather realistic approach and very mature if I may say. Jari-Matti also confirmed contacts with Volkswagen, but claims his first choice would be Ford.
