Video: Robert Kubica slides off the road – another lesson learned

So, you want to learn, young Robert? Learn about rally and all its secrets? Fine, fine. Have a seat and let us begin. And so Robert learned about speed, about grip, about driving on dry tarmac, wet tarmac, frozen tarmac, who-knows-what tarmac, slush, snow, gravelly snow, snowy gravel, gravel, he learned about jumps and crests, he learned about shifting weight of a car in turns, he learned about using the grip to power out of tricky situations, but no matter how much he learned and tried, he still felt there was more to learn. Of course there was, his master told him.

You never stop learning, and you never ever know everything, because in this sport you’re literally on your own with everything else bar your co-driver aimed at pushing you off the road or breaking down on you. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

In other news, here’s Robert Kubica’s off on today’s 2nd leg of Rally Sweden. Looked so innocent but turned out to be very time consuming. Part of learning!
