Hyundai previews Argentina, in video

Anyone here not impressed with the progress of Hyundai Shell World Rally Team this year? They still call it a test and development year, but Alzenau based team already collected a podium finish and fastest stage times. There is another great thing about Hyundai, for me at least. Thierry Neuville is a very talented driver, but this year he is forced to learn new things and tame his ambitions a bit. This approach did wonders for Sebastien Ogier – he lost none of his hunger for victories, but he did grow up, so to speak, during his S2000 stint in 2012. Thierry is in a slightly better position, he is driving a WRC car and he can compare the car’s potential more directly, but he also must remain realistic. I may be wrong, but I think a year spent in development and closing the gap will do him good. We all know Thierry has the speed, I’d like to think he is now learning how to apply it optimally.

Dani Sordo earned his place in Hyundai’s lineup for Argentina by being serious and mature when it counted. Hyundai also did well to listen to their and Dani’s fans, basically requesting Sordo to be given another chance in Argentina.

Hyundai can do well in Argentina, but it’s a new challenge for the team. How are they going to cope with it, time will tell. Some of the strategies are unveiled in this video, do watch.
