Sebastien Ogier might be out of contention after heavy shunt during Rallye Monte Carlo’s second leg, but he surely caught attention of rallying community with superb drive behind the wheel of Super 2000 specced Škoda Fabia.
“It was an incredible drive from Sebastien and Julien. We are very sure now that we have the right driver. Sebastien is the future.” team’s head of communication Stefan Moser told Autosport.
Incident occured in high speed section of day’s final stage and although crew reported they were OK, co-driver Julien Ingrassia sought medical help later on. Apparently he hurt his arm in collision which caused big damage to car as well, as you can see in video below.
It looks like Ogier took a very big cut in that left hand corner and car got catapulted on two wheels and across the track. Shame as Frenchman was really showing some top class performance.
