Kubica confirmed for SATA Rallye Açores?

Great news this morning from European Rally Championship – Robert Kubica confirmed his entry to the next round of the series, SATA Rallye Açores. It’s round four of the championship, and it begins a week from now on the stunningly beautiful Azores. Since this event is on gravel, Kubica will be able to put his recently acquired experience to good use as he tackles the stages set on the island of Sao Miguel.

Official entry list consists of 42 crews, led by Škoda Motorsport’s Jan Kopecky, winner of the previous round, Rally Islas Canarias. Ireland’s Craig Breen in Peugeot 207 S2000 (Peugeot Rally Academy) is next, with Czech National Team’s Jan Černy in Škoda Fabia S2000 rounding up the top three seeds. Kubica is fourth, with Bryan Bouffier, who also competed in Rally Portugal, in fifth.

This is what official FIA European Rally Championship website says about SATA Rallye Açores:
Based on the Atlantic archipelago’s largest island of São Miguel, the event is famous for its stunning countryside and narrow and undulating gravel stages. Changeable weather is also a big factor with rain and fog adding to the challenge facing crews. The event begins with the non-competitive City Stage in host town Ponta Delgada on the night of Wednesday 24 April followed by the Qualifying Stage on Thursday morning, which will be used to determine the starting positions amongst the ERC and FIA priority drivers for the first of three legs on Thursday afternoon. Eurosport and RTP Açores will show both runs of Sete Cidades and Tronqueira live.
Hear that, folks? Live on TV and live on Internet. Strong competition, superb stages and live TV – can’t wait!
