Video: Mads Ostberg at Goodwood Festival of Speed

This is one short but sweet. Former, current and future WRC contender (in various categories and teams), Norwegian Mads Ostberg gave his Citroën C3 WRC a proper push up the short Goodwood hill (which is hardly a proper hill, but the place is iconic enough not to nitpick!).

This track’s configuration is far from any kind of proper rally stage and even a race track, but with a car like this do you really need anything other than a handful of corners and a heavy right foot? In less than a minute Mads demonstrated plenty of modern rally car’s features, one being the all-important weight-shift when entering high speed corners.

I do love a proper circuit race car, planted firmly to the road surface, but what I like even more is seeing suspension at work, not by accident but by pure skill and determination. Mads delivered both perfectly.
