First special stage just finished for top seeded crews and it was Prodrive’s Dani Sordo taking the fastest time and early lead. Sordo was flying through the short super special and with 1:34.2 took top spot with 3 tenths ahead of Mads Ostberg. Third place went to Ott Tanak with further 3 tenths.
Following the results of Qualifying Stage leading drivers lined up to select starting positions for tomorrow’s first leg of 2012 Rally Sweden. Not surprisingly, leading drivers opted for very low starting positions – trend started by Qualifying Stage winner Jari-Matti Latvala. Finnish driver was first to pick his position and he selected 17th spot.
Excellent news! Swedish television SvT managed to ensure live TV coverage of Rally Sweden’s first special stage this evening. Despite being just under 2 kilometers in length superspecial in Karlstadt will undoubtedly provide excellent show as crews get ready for second round of the 2012 World Rally Championship.
